Tandoori Roti is a must have bread in every Indian Household but most of us do not know the proper method of cooking it and kneading the dough for tandoori roti.
I` ll explain the full method of kneading the dough with pictures and then making the tandoori roti
INGREDIENTS
3 Cups Wheat flour(Atta)
1.5 Cups Gram Flour (Besan)
1.5 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Red Chili
Half Teaspoon Coriander Powder
! Teaspoon Garam Masala
2 Tablespoon Chopped Coriander Leaves
Water
METHOD OF KNEADING THE DOUGH FOR TANDOORI ROTI
Take whole wheat flour in a large plate
Add gram flour to the Atta
Add 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
Add 1.5 Teaspoon Salt
Add Half Teaspoon Coriander Powder
Add 1 Teaspoon Garam masala
Add 2 Table spoons Chopped coriander leaves
Mix all the above ingredients and knead it into a smooth dough by mixing water as required.The dough should not be very loose.
Cover the Dough with a plate and keep it aside for some time.
PROCEDURE OF MAKING TANDOORI ROTI
Take a small portion of dough and roll it into a small ball and sprinkle some flour on it
Now roll it in a small circle with the help of a rolling pin(belan)
Your chapati will look like this
Take a Tandoor and heat it for 3-4 minutes
Sprinkle a drop of water on the rolled chapati and stick it to the inner surface of the lid of tandoor like this
You can place 4 chapatis at a time.
Put the lid of the tandoor on the tandoor and let the chapatis get cooked.It will take approx 2 minutes .
Keep checking in between.
Now open the Lid of the tandoor and check.Your chapatis will look like this.
Place the chapatis on the grill for 20 seconds and then take them out of the tandoor
Top them with Butter and serve them hot with Daal makhani or any vegetable of your choice
