Aloo chole tikki recipe

Aloo Tikki is a lip smacking street food that is the favorite of most of the Asians.We love to enjoy it at the road side stalls and tikki vendors, but why not make it at home as it is very easy to prepare.Home prepared meals are hygenic as well as nutritious.Believe me, it will bee praised by one and all who will have these delicious delicacies.You can also stuff tikki with various kings of fillings but here i ll show you how to make simple tikki for the beginners.

So here`s the step by step recipe






INGREDIENTS FOR ALOO TIKKI

 FOR THE TIKKIS


4-5 Large size Boiled potatoes
3-4 Bread crumbs 
Ararot powder
Salt to taste
Garam masala to taste
Chilli Powder to taste
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp dry mango powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala powder
2 tbspn oil for frying

FOR GARNISHING

 
Punjabi chole or amritsari chane
Coriander leaves for garnishing
green chutney
Imli Sweet chutney 
Curd
Roasted cumin seeds powder



STEP BY STEP PROCEDURE


Take boiled and peeled potatoes and mash them with the help of a potato masher

Add all the masalas and salt

Add the bread crumbs to the potatoes

Mix it well to form a sweet dough

Now make 7-8 equal portions of the dough

Take 1 piece and round it into a ball.

Now apply few drops of oil on your hands so that the paste wont stick to your hands

Now press it with soft hands to give the shape of a tikki

Similarly make all the tikkis

Heat oil in a non stick pan

And place the tikki one by one in the pan

Cook them on low flame for 2-3 minutes or till they turn golden brown






Now turn the sides and cook them from other side

after 5 minutes take the tikkis from the pan and drain on  tissue paper




Now place 2 tikkis in a small plate

Cut them into halves

Now spread 1 portion of cholle on the tikkis

Add 1 tbspn green chutney and 1 tbspn sweet imli chutney to it.

Add 2 tbspn curd to it

Sprinkle roasted cumin seeds powder, chaat masala, chilli powder over it

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot.
