How to make Moong Dal Chilla 


Chillas are basically pan cakes and they are served with coriander chutney or tomato sauce.

Moong Dal Chillas are also known as lentin pancakes.
Not only in India, these are also Liked and eaten in American Countries and known as Lentin Pancakes.Indians are more and more becoming crazy for junk food and unhealthy food whereaas the Americans are getting diverted to Healthy and clean food.


Moong Daal Chilla is one of the popular street foods of North India and it can be easily prepared at home In a healthy version.It is a low fat food that is packed with nutrition and you can have them for any meal, may be breakfast, lunch , dinner or just as a snack.Moong dal is considered as one of the healthiest dal and it is also recommended by dietician when you are on a diet and trying to loose weight.

INGREDIENTS


1 Cup Moong dal
3 onions chopped
Ginger paste
Garlic Paste
2-3 Green Chilies chopped
2 Tbspn Mustard Oil
Salt
Red Chili Powder
Garam masala powder
Corriander Leaves
Soaf



Procedure of making Moong Dal Chilla



                         Take 1 bowl Moong Dal and soak it in 3 bowls of water for about 4 to 5 hours.


                       Discard the water and grind them with just very little water to form a smooth paste .
                       Add ginger and garlic paste to the batter while grinding it





Add Salt, red chili powder, soaf and garma masala to the batter





Add chopped onions o the batter
 



Add chopped green Chilies

 



Add chopped coriander leaves
 



Your batter is ready
 



 





Now heat mustard oil on a non stick pan and when the oil is warm, spread the batter in a circular motion
(I put 2 tbspn batter in the middle and then spread it with the back side of a bowl)
 



Spread some oil from sides to cook the chilla
Cookm it on a medium flame for 5 minutes
 


 When cooked from one side, invert it carefully s that o cracks are there



Now spread some oil on the pan and cook from other side for 4-5 minutes on medium or low flame.
If you want you can also spread some grated cheese over the chilla and then fold it but i m not that much fond of cheese so i just avoid it.




Delicous and healthy chilla is ready
